Darkness Pervades ~ mirageof-deceit
Serah didn’t understand why Cosmos would not allow her champions to keep them. A nostalgic voice in her told her something. The owner of the voice was someone so important to her that it had survived the passage into this tumultuous world. It had been one of the only things that had stayed, finding residence in the recesses of the young Farron’s mind.
“As you walk towards a brighter tomorrow, you have to look back to your past. The path you have walked to the here and now will give you the courage you need.”
But what did courage count for when her path had been enshrouded by the very goddess she was expected to protect?
Her musings were suddenly interrupted as the young blonde popped up behind her. A surprised yelp escaped her as she jumped back, calling forth her bowsword from midair. Once the initial adrenaline faded, she recognized her fellow warrior and eased.
“Oh… Hello,” she greeted, flushing in embarrassment at having been caught lost in thought.
When he approaches near her, the young teen could tell that she was lost in her thoughts. Would it be wrong to bother her? Those thoughtful eyes, the expression on her face tells him that’s she is wishing for something. Something important.
Was it memories? Memories of where we come from? Where we were living? Will it make us stronger?
Once he took careful steps towards her, the teen inclined his head forward as eyes blinked rather slowly. Her hair. Her hair! That color! So familiar…! But why?! Shaking away thoughts in his head the teen inhaled somewhat before giving the woman a small smile. She was indeed older than he and he was to show respect - right?
“Was I interrupting something?” He chuckled.
Her bowsword dissipated into midair, hand disturbing the lingering sparkles that floated as she replaced it by her side. Heather blue eyes slowly took in the boy in his entirety. While at first one may think that he would be an enemy due to his darker garb, the cheeky grin plastered over his face was a tell tale sign of otherwise. Acute sense picking up on the light behind his brilliant eyes, she returned the polite smile.
“Nothing important, young man,” she folded her arms before her in a lady like manner, “You are… an ally, right?” Her tone of questioning was more out of curiosity for how the bashful lad would shape his answer, rather than a need of affirmation for his siding.
Careful eyes watched as her weapon disappeared, almost mesmorised by the sparkles that lingered around her hand. A small smile curved on his pale lips once more, tilting his head to the side once more. His appearance might have thrown several off - but he was of no harm whatsoever. This boy was just as a mystery.
“I’m not young - Seventeen!” Came his instant protest of the words ‘young’ and ‘man’ but bit his bottom lip at his sudden rudeness. With a sigh he dipped his head, almost apologetically and then smiled at her. At the question, a soft sigh escaped his lips.
Was he an ally because he was on the side of Cosmos? Would that make him an ally? “Yes, that would make me an ally by the sides of Cosmos and Chaos… But it depends if you view me as such.”
His childish antics didn’t help his case much, but it made Serah merely scrunch up her nose in amusement. “If you say so,” she grinned back, trying her best to not seem at all condescending as it was not her intent, “I saw you once before in Her graces, but I never was able to learn your name.” Her petite hand lifted out towards him, pink head slightly tilting off to one side in welcome.
